United - Get Neuer!

Sir Alex Ferguson called it the best display by a keeper, against Manchester United, he had seen during his long reign.

Manuel Neuer was absolutely superb at keeping United at bay and Sir Alex, after the final whistle ensured he shook the young German keeper by the hand.

Neuer, a subject of much transfer speculation, is expected to sign for Bayern Munich this summer a fact that Sir Alex acknowledged by remarking, when pressed about the keeper,

"I think we know that but he was fantastic."

Well, if we`ve any sense we`ll move heaven and earth to change that and entice the youngster to Old Trafford.

Perhaps Sir Alex should simply address the board and repeat another comment he made last night following Neuer`s sensational performance,

"It was the finest display of goalkeeping against us."

And just tell them to go get him!

I guess he has already decided to go to Bayern but if there is even a slim chance of us getting him we should try our best to get him here,it goes without saying that he has the skills to make him the best but there is still time for that and I just read that UH of Bayern has stated that they won't pay an inflated fee for him so may be we could still have a chance with him.He is one guy I wouldn't mind Utd paying over the odds for his services besides the ronaldinho transfer teaches us that the deal is not done till its confirmed by both the parties.

Even if we don't get him there are others out there who could still do a fantastic job for us so for me it would be his loss more than ours.I'm not saying going to bayern would be silly, there is not much separating the two teams when it comes to history but right now if u look at the teams I have no doubts that we have a far stronger squad plus we play in a far stronger league but I guess we have to respect a person's decision.

He was sensational and if you believe the commentators, thats him on just an average ordinary day. A real goalkeeping masterclass performance and definately worthy of taking over the No1 overall and filling Van Der Sar's boots. I would love to see him join but as Antriksh said, he seems to have his eyes set on remaining in Germany with Bayern being the likeliest of destinations, shame really, I can't help but feel he would be wasting his talent at Bayern. Let's face it, in recent years Bayern have been some of the biggest underperformers in football and, like Liverpool, it's merely their history and reputation that drives them on as a 'big club'. We would offer much better opposition, competition and consistency within all competitions something Bayern cannot. It wouldn't be the end of the world if we didn't sign him, we have been linked and watching many talented keepers however, after last nights performance, Neuer is definately my preferred target especially when you take into consideration Schalke can't demand a ridiculous fee seeing as he has only 1 year left and Bayern aren't paying an OTT price for him.

how about that poor Lindegaard fella you lot signed?
merlin
I would love to know what his position at the club is as well merlin. Was he signed as a prospect? If so, shouldn't we be looking at a keeper 32+ years of age?
