United - Van Der Sar`s Outlook

With the search for his successor well and truly on, Edwin van der Sar has his eyes on a great finish to the season.

But the Dutchman, now in his forties, is acutely aware that at this stage of the competition danger lurks on every corner.

Like most, Edwin has picked out 71 goal Champions League record holder, Raul, as a potential threat, remarking to the press,

"Raul is quite amazing. You can`t lose sight of him because he`s so dangerous. He only needs a little chance to score a goal."

Here on Vital Manchester United, we`ve already highlighted the potency of the Spanish striker who was offered to us last summer when he chose to leave the Bernabou. We`re hoping that by continually emphasizing the threat he may present, he`ll have a quiet game.

But, as Edwin`s United career approaches a conclusion, the Dutch keeper has expressed a final wish for this season, a wish that we all concur with when he remarks,

"I`ve had a reasonable career so far, so let`s hope we can finish of nicely by winning some things."

The Premier League and the Champions League hopefully!

We must tread cautiously and respect our opponent. We can't be naive or overconfident as, like Bayern, Schalke will give us a sharp drop back down to Earth. Hopefully we don't concede cheap shots and unnecessary silly goals like we did against Bayen. Get through this with a score draw or an away win and the final looks ever more likely.
