'If It's Football, It's Vital'

United - Those Liverpool Urchins

It`s not often I sit in front of the television hoping Liverpool can get a result, but that was exactly the case on Sunday afternoon.

Although it`s down to us to chuck away this Premier League title that will herald a record 19th title success, I want this title to be wrapped up sooner rather than later to give us a smuch time as possible to surge towards a possible Champions League triumph.

Watching Liverpool snatch a last-gaps draw was highly entertaining and they are to be congratulated (I`m not going mad - bear with me) on fielding so many youngsters when the need required.

It looks like the current crop of youngsters coming through at Anfield will serve the club well and the club are harping on about just that but I can`t help think what that Kop legend, Alan Hansen, makes of it all.

I reckon though he`ll not utter that famous line about you win nothing with kids again in a hurry, even more so when he thinks back and remembers just how United did precisely that with our golden era of youngsters who served us so well for over a decade.

Our golden era was a footballing anonymole, like the current Barca team, lets face it we will never see anything like it again. Hansen's not wrong about not being able to win anything with kids and I reckon he will stick by this philosophy.
