United - A Brave Face?

United - A Brave Face?

Was Sir Alex Ferguson putting on a brave face?

Or is he right when in the aftermath of an FA Cup semi-final defeat to our noisy neighbours, he commented,

"The league is still the first target - it has to be."

"The Newcastle match is more important than the ones we`ve just had. We are well aware we need to win and that will probably be reflected in my selection."

I`ll let you decide!

Well yeah the league it top priority but there's still no denying that the team fielded against City was one which reflected him trying to win. If he had said this when we played Arsenal with a 2nd string side then fair dues (one of the reasons I didn't fancy us winning the FA Cup, Fergie never showed much interest).

Merlin, for starters Schalke are going to prove very tough opposition so if we're lucky enough to get through that and if we faced Madrid in the final, i think we'd give them a run for their money but as for Barca that's a different kettle of fish. And as for humiliation, getting battered by one of if not the greatest club teams in the history of football is no shame! i'd much rather be beaten by them than an above average united team ;)
