'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Red Machine Rolls On

It wasn`t the most scintillating of performances but at this time of the season it doesn`t have to be.

As long as we take all three points that`ll do me fine!

After surviving an initial Fulham onslaught, the two goals we scored in that decent spell in the first half, were sufficient to ensure the points were ours.

After the game, Sir Alex, still not speaking to the BBC but directing his thoughts to other media sources, had this to say about the performance, certain individuals and what lies ahead of us for the remainder of this season.

First up the performance,

"The result was good and that`s what counts at the end of the season, but it wasn`t a job well done."

"We were casual and complacent and we didn`t take our chances."

"No team had beaten Fulham by more than one goal this season, so we should be pleased with that aspect."

"The crowd was quiet, it was a hot, sticky day and a lot of them were sun-bathing."

"We expect a performance at home. That`s the way we play."

And on certain individuals,

"Berbatov, Nani and Valencia were excellent in the first half. Valencia is fantastic. He is a marvellous footballer. We chose the right time to take him off and he will be ready for Tuesday."

And those final few fixtures,

"We have to trust the squad. We have six games left in the Premier League and the important thing is to keep momentum."

"We don`t want to let it slip from here."

"Playing game after game doesn`t affect us. We just keep going and look forward to games."

Roll on Tuesday night then!

Careful what you you wish for merlin. I love how much of an admirer of Valencia Fergie is, he's hardly subtle about it either. Never realised Fulham haven't lost by more than 1 goal, quite impressive. Chuffed with the result myself.
