United - Ferdinand Fit For Wednesday?

United - Ferdinand Fit For Wednesday?

At the weekend, the inference was that Rio Ferdinand would be back for the visit of Fulham next weekend.

Today, the inference is that Rio may very well be in contention for selection for the trip to Chelsea on Wednesday.

It`s being reported that if Rio has suffered no adverse reaction to participating in the training sessions he undertook at the back end of last week then he will partake in his first full contact session today and that Sir Alex may well be tempted to select him on Wednesday.

Whilst the tabloid press are inclined to make such a bold prediction, we`ll sit back and stick with the Fulham game as his possible return date.

In whose place? No doubt it would be Smalling who would make way despite being solid throughout his absence and arguably our best defender since the new year.
