'If It's Football, It's Vital'

United - Statement Issued

At half time, at Upton Park, I feared the worst.

Trailing 2-0 to West Ham United it looked as if our away form was to suffer yet another glitch, it looked as if we`d be suffering our third defeat on the road, following losses to Chelsea and Liverpool.

Thankfully it wasn`t to be as Wayne Rooney inspired us to produce a comeback that will have those seeking to hunt us down in the Premier League title race, seriously worried.

After the game, Ryan Giggs spoke about the statement of intent this comeback signaled with the Welsh record breaker commenting,

"We`ve sent out a big message. We`ve come back so many times and we`ve ground out results when we haven`t played so well. No matter what the score is at half time or how badly we`ve been playing, we`re always capable of comebacks like we did at West Ham."

"It`s a great characteristic to have. That`s what it`s all about. It` a challenge and I`m enjoying it more than ever."

All very entertaining but can we not do it the hard way next time lads?

Yeah, it's brilliant that we show great character, ability and attitude and perform these comebacks but can we not get ourselves in that position in the first place? Can we not cruise-control to an away victory with a solid performance?
