United - Young Move Draws Closer?

United - Young Move Draws Closer?

Following on from an impressive performance for England in midweek, against Ghana, rumours about a move to Old Trafford are figuring again in the tabloid press.

In fact it`s probably fair to say that they are increasing in intensity as the end of the season and the opening of the next transfer window approaches.

With Young having turned down a new contract offer at Villa Park, apparently worth a cool £80,000 a week, one leading exponent of the tabloid press are claiming that United are closing in on a deal worth an even cooler £100,000 a week to Young but a transfer that is reported as costing the club something close to £25 million.

Stay tuned!

80k! 100k! You are having a laugh? A ridiculous amount for an otherwise above-average player. He can be brilliant, without a doubt but I don't think he's brilliant enough to walk into the team and demand that sort of wage. I wouldn't mind him signing for United on the condition that he will be a creative AM who can run at the opposition defense and link the midfield to the attack but if he's coming in for cover on the wings then I would pass.
