Keeping a realistic eye on things!

Having seen the Arsenal dream of a quadruple disintegrate in such a short space of time, a space where they lost the Carling Cup Final and exited the Champions League and FA Cup, at the hands of Barcelona and United respectively, Sir Alex Ferguson is a little cautious of banging the drum relating to a United treble.

Instead, in comments made to the media, Sir Alex has re-iterated his belief that bringing home one trophy a year is the basis on which constant success is acknowledged, when he remarks, but whilst also erring towards treble talk,

"We must have a chance of the treble but it`s a very difficult one."

"Going away from the greed of winning three trophies, if you can win one a year you have to be happy with that. I think it`s more difficult than it was in 1999. We went through the last three months of that season without an injury."

"That was amazing luck, because at the moment we have so many injuries."


Three trophies may well be beyond us but two, now there`s a possibility!

There's a very good chance we will get one of the Premier League (priority) or FA Cup (bonus) and still a decent chance of picking up both. The Champions League however all the remaining opposition are beatable, all hard, but beatable regardless. The concern with it is whilst we can win every game the opposition could all just as easily sweep us aside.
