United - Three Coming In?

As we`ve mentioned before a club our size is always going to be linked to transfer speculation on a grand scale.

The red-top tabloids are full of speculation as to who we could be chasing, whether it be a seasoned international, an up and coming youngster or someone in between.

Today, the tabloids contain a few quotes from Sir Alex Ferguson that give an insight into what we might expect this summer with it being inferred that there could be as many as three arrivals, with Sir Alex commenting,

"We have certain targets in mind and I think two or three will be fulfilled. There`s no question of that."

"The Glazer family has always been supportive of our desires to improve the team."

With the list of potential recruits, today, including, Manuel Neuer, David de Gea, Wesley Sneijder, Jack Rodwell, Charlie Adam, Gary Cahill, Thiago Silva, Sir Alex gives us all some food for thought when he goes on to remark,

"What we are good at is bringing young players to the club, like Chicharito."

"If you look at the last six years we`ve brought through young players like Ronaldo and Nani."

"We`re good at that and I don`t think we should change what we`re good at. When we identify the right young players, that`s the way we`ll go."

Does this rule out a much-vaunted move for Sneijder then?

The newspapers will go into overdrive with rumours with these comments now. It's hard to imagine who Fergie will sign because his transfers have become so unpredictable. Hopefully the signings will reinforce the midfield and provide us with an excellent keeper, not going to hold my breath however, most probably will be more prospects in which case I hope they can make an immediate impact.
