United - Shoot on sight Gibbo!

Most people know that Darron Gibson packs quite a punch and Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni wants this to work to their advantage against Macedonia.

With the Macedonian's deploying a deep line Trapattoni thinks that this will enable Gibson, and his Ireland teammates, the time needed to left fly from range and that is exactly what he wants him to do.

A 'shoot on sight' policy is what he is asking for: 'I have seen many of Macedonia's games and usually away from home, they play very deep.

'I have told Gibson to get on the ball and when he is on the ball, to shoot.

'The way they play, it is better for Gibson, who can control the ball quickly and shoot.'

Gibson doesn't always get it right but when he does he can unleash some unstoppable efforts.

As the saying goes (when he gets it right) when they are hit they stay hit!

It's always a good idea to reveal your tactics before the game. Gibson has got a good long shot so fair play to them, they're playing to his strengths (perhaps his only strength).
