United Keeper Contemplates New Role

He may be hanging up those goalkeeping gloves after a fantastic career, but it now looks exceedingly like Edwin Van der Sar will still be involved with Manchester United in some capacity.

Peaking to the tabloid red-tops, it looks like Edwin is going back on a pledge he may have made when he left Ajax all those years ago, commenting,

"I`m not going back to Amsterdam, though it would be very comfortable there with Frank de Boer, Danny Blind and Dennis Bergkamp. When I left 12 years ago I said I would return. But I did not know what great years I would have with Manchester United."

"It may be that I`m going to give United clinics in Asia, where the club is very popular, or something in commerce. I have already held some talks."

We`re sure that whatever Edwin chooses to do he`ll make a grand job of it!

Hopefully a coaching role, his teachings will be invaluable for the likes of Lindergaard and Kuszczak.
