United - Barking up the Wrong Tree?

United - Barking up the Wrong Tree?

I just love it when I stumble on something that makes me chuckle!

Fumbling through various publications and scanning various internet sites, I found just that something.

Apparently, probably on the back of our recent defensive injury crisis, we`re showing an interest in procuring the Aston Villa defender, Richard Dunne.

The Irishman appears to have fallen from grace at Villa Park after an incident on a team-bonding trip resulted in a little shenanigan with the devils drink being blamed.

Whilst not doubting that, on his day, Dunne is a good player, can you really see him signing for United?

I thought not!

No can't see us signing him but who the ***** thought we would have Michael Owen in our squad or that Carrick would be given a new contract, ***** happens.

Dunne at UTD? Doubt it very much.

You'll be lucky to sign the likes of Titus Bramble if your owners carry on asset stripping your club - hell, even Bramble might baulk at the mooted "performance related" contracts! We'll see if your assertions that everyone is queuing up to play for the red shirt are true or not in the very near future I reckon.

Dunne's a good CB but I don't think he would be happy with a bench role, especially so late on in his career. Why do we keep on getting linked with Aston Villa player?

If we're going to get a defender please let is be Gallas if he's released on a free or refuses to sing a contract come the end of the season. He's proven not really injury prone and is brilliant, the only downside being his attitude. Won't cost a penny and will provide excellent cover or better yet first team action. He wont pose much of a threat to the development of the youngster due to his age. The only one with enough quality to play for Man U who we can get.
