United - Young to Snub Villa

United - Young to Snub Villa

This is the second time we`ve mentioned this rumour, probably because it`s surfaced with some vengeance in the tabloid press this morning.

Once again the tabloids are pushing the fact that Ashley Young has no intention of signing a new contract at Aston Villa.

It`s being reported that the player has become disenchanted with life at Villa Park and realizes that his current club has no chance of breaking into the top five following a season that has seen the club never get near replicating the form of last year.

Although keen to join a top-five club we`ll continue to harp on about the fact that Young, reportedly, expressed a desire, to his team-mates to join United.

With Nani reported as being troubled by not being offered financial parity with some of the big-earners at Old Trafford, could we see Nani leaving and Young arriving?

Stranger things have happened.

From what all the Villa fans are hearing from every fan that either speaks to people within the club or reporters tweeting to us, this is 100% going to happen. Ash isn't the same player as he was but still he is a good player. I will be pleased to see him go to United and choose you over money bags Man City, Chelsea etc. The only way the deal won't happen is if Arsenal come in because he's an Arsenal fan but they won't. It's just a question now of how much money can we get, I think it will take £12M at the minimum! Could be up to £15M.

Yep, Ash will be off imo. Very disappointed as we have already lost Barry and Milner but at least I can understand him going to United to win trophies a la Yorke rather than for the pennies at Citeh. It shows how hard it is to build a team to challenge without being in the champions league. The game is obsessed by that because of the money involved. I think he will be outstanding at United, he has a LOT of natural talent, and all Villa can do is hold out for as high price as possible. I reckon £15m will be the price, and that's a good deal all round

Personally I wouldn't mind Young joining us. He's fast, a good dribbler of the ball, decent passer and also got a good cross on him. He might be able to play that much needed AM role as he has been doing at Villa. His development seems to have hit a stop at Villa but maybe management under Fergie and playing along side the likes of Scholes, Giggs, Nani and Rooney he may begin to develop and learn. If not, even at 10-15 mil he will provide more than sufficient cover for the wings fill in at CF and CAM. There's no real downsides to this posssible transfer however, I can see Liverpoo snapping him up.

Young is a good player but Id take nani over him any day. Younger Faster and quicker. 3yrs ago though would have been a different story. Cheers though!

Doesn't bother me he's leaving...Wont be the same affect when milner and barry left, he divers far too much for me and has been an inconsitent overated player for many seasons now. His best football was his first 2 seasons on the wing when defenders had trouble with him cutting inside but they soon figured out he was a one trick pony and now he is in the middle he hasn't had an outstanding game for us yet. Your welcome to have him and all the villa fans will realise next year that he is easily replaceable.

you can have him hes soo over rated its untrue yes he is a good player but im fed up of crosses not beating the first man and his insistence on taking every single set piece im sure you could find somoene better for that sort of money but again it seems like everyone else except thousands of villa fans think hes our best player but he simly isnt. 2 years ago yes but he seems to have lost it or defenders have clocked on to his flicks and constant cutting inside.
16/03/2011 19:49:00
Said it before, Young has 2 years max left in him until all the kicks take their effect and slow him down, and lets face it, he has decent delivery but aint a Beckham... and who would he replace? Berbatov, Nani, Valencia, Hernandez? Would take any in exchange to be quite frank. Fergison IMO needs to strengthen centre mid if anything.

Ash wont go to Liverpool. Why would he? They are no closer to Chumps League than Villa. I think he would be a star at Old Trafford. Upset to see him go, but try and get top price and invest it wisely

I'll be glad when he's gone to be fair, Albrighton is a far better player than Ash and has only had this season in the first team. At Utd he will have to return to being a winger, and with Valencia (who is twice the player) coming back it won't be on the right. He won't get the 'hole ' position at Utd either, so left wing obscurity for a right footed player it will be and a nice £12-£15m in our account for GH to bring in some propper talent. He has been poor this season so bye bye and cachiiing :)

TheFamousNo7 ..... good dribbler ????? really ?? I watch him every week ..... he's a good diver, can't beat the first defender with a cross, selfish with set pieces and penalties and hardly converts ..... I would like to see him go, but he isn't no Man Utd player, never in a million years, just not good enough........ maybe Spurs or Liverpool ..
