United - Brown Sets Record

An unwanted one at that!

Wes Brown is having one of those seasons that he`d probably like to forget.

Brown, whose appearances have been sporadic this season after the defender slipped back in the pecking order; was called into action last night courtesy to injuries to Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic and Jonny Evans.

In doing so, his late headed own goal created something of a milestone.

Apparently it was the 11th own goal in the tournament so far this season eclipsing the previous record of 10 that was set in the 2002/2003 season.

Not one for the personal scrapbook we think!
