United - Rio Farce Continues

The current question about who exactly is the captain of England took another twist yesterday.

With the tabloid press proudly proclaiming that Fabio Capello was going to Old Trafford to talk to Rio Ferdinand about the situation, it`s now being reported that Rio is none the wiser over what is actually going on.

Apparently, contrary to rumour, the two parties did not meet face-to-face with an Old Trafford source being quoted in the tabloid press as having remarked about the situation,

"Rio hasn`t got a clue what is going on. Capello has told journalists that Terry is taking over the captaincy - but hasn`t had the decency or courage to say it to Rio`s face."

"In fact Rio doesn`t even know if he`s losing the captaincy or not - he`s not heard from the FA or anyone."

"It`s no way to treat a player who has been so committed to England."

"There`s no respect for him at all. The whole thing is appalling."

It certainly is.

Yesterday we commented that Rio`s recent injury record doesn`t exactly support his case for being considered the natural captain of England but if he is to be relieved of his duties then you would have thought that he`d at least have the common decency to tell Rio of his intentions now that the media have the scent of a story in the wind!

Capello and the England squad are joke. Capello didn't even tell the players who weren't going to the World Cup the bad news to their face. Useless manager who apparently "taught Rooney how to score", yeah right you let Rooney become the sacrificial lamb for all those involved in a poor World Cup, managers are supposed to defend their players not condemn them. The sooner the mans out of the England frame the better.

Oh great... Forgot about that. "Right lads we're playing Spain today, what I want you today is everyone pass it to Beckham and then David you boot it up to Crouch" ..... "Then what coach?" ...... "Don't know. Haven't got any further than that yet. Guess this will be a learning experience for us all". Bent will score 50 goals in a season and won't get a look in because of 1 sitter his missus could've scored whilst "top quality" Lennon will hit cross after cross off the pitch or to the opposition and Defoe will be missing every sitter possible. Glum times ahead i'm afraid.
