United - Berbatov Drought?

Manchester United will be looking for Dimitar Berbatov to end his European goal drought tonight.

The Bulgarian striker hasn`t hit the net in any European club fixture since October 2008, a total of 18 games, a fact that Sir Alex found hard to accept, commenting to the red-top media,

"I wasn`t aware of that."

"Dimitar is capable of scoring all the time and he`s got that ability. He`s done very well for us this season and hopefully that will continue."

Berbatov to end that drought tonight then?

Not overly concerned about the goal drought or the Champions League for that matter. Striker's are predominately in the team for scoring but Berby, like Rooney, offers a lot more than goals. Fergie realised that Rooney & Berby were on and off with their goalscoring and so bought a natural goalscorer in the form of Hernandez whilst Berby can offer his good passing, brilliant first touch, general ball control and dribbling skills to the team when not scoring. As for the Champions League I think too many teams competing are out of league, whilst we possess a relatively strong squad in terms of width, attacking and defending, the central midfield is seriously weak and really lacks that AM and DM and that will be ultimately be our downfall.
