United - Time to Renew Acquaintances

United - Time to Renew Acquaintances

Was it really 2004 when we last won the FA Cup!

Amazingly it was and of the current squad, only five have FA Cup winners` medals.

One player who has yet to win an FA Cup winners medal is Rio Ferdinand, something Sir Alex Ferguson touched on as he spoke in the build up to what promises to be a classic encounter this Saturday afternoon, commenting,

"It was interesting to see that Rio Ferdinand has never won an FA Cup medal, which I`m surprised at. So it`s an opportunity, which is what I am saying."

And as for the game itself, Sir Alex added,

"We expect a difficult game - and so will they."

"Games against Arsenal, since I`ve been here, have always been competitive and always meant something."

"The incentive for both teams is a semi-final and you always like to take your team to Wembley."

"There`s a certain credibility about that - even though I don`t entirely agree with the semi-finals being played at Wembley."

Although we agree that it will be a hard and difficult game, what`s your thought on the semi-finals being played at Wembley?

Well Wembley despite being a magnificent stadium is notorious for it's very 5hit pitch. Also, visiting Wembley for the Semi's and the Final takes away that special occassion feeling. I think we should worry more about getting there first however.
