United - Valencia Ready?

With Nani missing from the squad to take on Arsenal in the FA Cup quarter-final this Saturday, could Sir Alex Ferguson be set to take something of a gamble with his team selection?

Antonio Valencia is so far down the road to recovery that it`s reported he could be considered for selection. The winger, who was injured in a Champions League fixture against Glasgow Rangers back in September, was part of the party that travelled to Anfield last Sunday but wasn`t selected.

But with Sir Alex possibly looking to stretch Arsenal down the flanks, Valencia could be in his plans, especially when Sir Alex has commented about the player,

"He was fantastic last season, absolutely brilliant. He was a great signing, he really was."

"The great thing about him was he takes the ball with such great strength and balance."

"He can take the ball up to the other end of the pitch for you. We missed that pace and acceleration."

"Although Nani has done fantastic - I mean he`s been a revelation this season - we have missed that."

Now Valencia may not start but I just have this notion that he`ll be on the bench just in case things aren`t going quite as planned.

I hope so, it was him providing Rooney with everything whilst Rooney just bathed in the glory of it. He's a key player in the team and a brilliant winger who has really been missed (I suspect by Rooney more than most!).

I have to admit he played well against us in the Community Shield!

Sralex risking another player's career by bringing him back too early? Worked for Rooney...
