Sunderland Looking to Keep Welbeck!

Danny Welbeck returned from injury today, making an appearance as a substitute in Sunderland`s decent 0-0 draw against Arsenal.

Ahead of the game the Sunderland manager, and ex-Manchester United favourite, Steve Bruce, has implied that he`d like to keep young Danny after this season ends.

Now he` snot talking about a permanent transfer but more of another season on loan and he`s hinted that he`ll do his utmost to swing the deal in his favour by plying Sir Alex with plentiful amounts of wine this summer.

We reckon another year away from Old Trafford, but playing top-flight football, might not be a bad thing to continue Danny`s development, does anyone agree or disagree?

Well with Hernandez, Berby and Rooney all above him in the pecking order I reckon another season will do him no harm. I would love to see him start playing in a United shirt again though. He has been very reassuring this season and it's clear he has bundles of potential. In my opinion, he's better than both our other prospects, Diouf and Macheda.

Totally agree. Much better than macheda or diouf. I think speed and power are essential for any modern day striker but wellbexk also has skill, whereas the other two are missing pace and skill respectively. I dont know though if i'd want to send him away for the whole season though. I'd rather mix it up between him and hernandez, since berba is still inconsistent and rooney might not reach last years performances ever again

Definitely better than Macheda and Diouf. With Owen leaving it would probably be best to keep him here and send Macheda and Diouf out on loan again.
