United - Keeper Watch

I`d suggest it`s odds-on that United will sign another keeper this summer.

With Edwin Van der Sar retiring many would have thought that Anders Lindegaard would have been signed to replace him, apparently not if you`re a tabloid hack.

With Sir Alex Ferguson being keen to keep competition for places healthy, the consensus amongst the tabloid hacks is that United are actively tracking the German keeper, Manuel Neuer, with the Schalke 04 President, Clement Toennies, offering a hint of our reputed interest when he`s attributed as having commented,

"An agent has approached us informing me United are interested in signing Neuer. If we get a written request from United, we`ll deal with it."

Naturally, there is competition for his services with Bayern Munich jus tone club wanting to sign the 24 year old.

Keep them peeled, this one could run and run!

Not one of my preferred targets, still a brilliant keeper though.
