United - Vidic Isn`t Fazed

I was waiting for the media, especially the tabloid press, to pick up on the fact that Nemanja Vidic will be facing his nemesis, Fernando Torres, on Tuesday evening.

Torres, who seems to score at will against Manchester United, will be looking to get at Vidic again but our club captain isn`t fazed by the situation, simply commenting ahead of the clash,

"Sometimes I read in the papers people saying I have a hard time against a particular player but that makes me focus even more on doing my job properly."

"I`m just trying to do the best I can and in the end the fans and the media will form their own opinions by talking, I can only change them by what I do on the pitch."

A clean sheet, at Stamford Bridge, might go some way to changing people`s perception of the current situation.

On form or not Torres is real threat at anytime. He can instantly turn on his game, as seen against Chelsea, and hit the net from anywhere. Though there is some comfort in knowing that despite his work rate and lust for goals he just isn't getting them (another player Liverpool has ran down to the ground) whilst Vidic has been the best defender in the league this season and overall is the best defender in the world. If Vidic does have an off game we've got Smalling, haven't we?

Very true TFN7, Torres is a great player and has caused Vidic big problems before, but this is probably the worst form Torres has been in coming up to a Utd game, and whilst Vidic is bang on form he will still have to watch out for Torres as well as Drogba and maybe Anelka. It will be interesting to see who Ancelotti goes with up front and how Smalling copes with them. My money's on a 2 all draw.

I would take that draw in a heartbeat.
