United - Evra on Winning Mentality

With the signing of a new contract one would hope that would be the end of the constant rumours that have seen Patrice Evra linked with a move to Real Madrid.

The French defender, since over-coming an initial settling in period, has been an inspiration to our side and it is good news that he has signed the deal put in front of him.

But, reading between the lines of a few comments printed in the tabloid press it seems that despite the constant rumours, Evra had no intention of leaving Old Trafford, remarking,

"I`ve won a lot in the last five years, but I want to win more and I know that`s the mentality of everyone here."

Clearly, Evra would rather bank on the glory years continuing at Old Trafford than jump ship back to mainland Europe.

It`s a move that has gained the appreciation of the boss as well with Sir Alex Ferguson being quoted as remarking

"His experience and talent will be increasingly important to us."

Indeed it will as we head towards a record 19th Premier League title!

So happy the best left back in the world signed a new contract. Brilliant player, he leads by example and does most of his talking on the pitch.
