United - Smalling Fits the Bill

United - Smalling Fits the Bill

Many of you who visit this site, have placed Chris Smalling firmly at the head of our poll for the man of the match accolade against Manchester City.

His confident display saw him look well at ease and one charging run forward, late in the second half, deserved more attention from those around him who wasted the opportunity to set him free on goal.

After the game, Chris had every reason to reflect on a job well done and remarked to the media,

"As soon as I got my first touch it felt just like another game. The atmosphere was electric. To be able to play in a game of that sort of magnitude was great."

Does anyone else get the feeling that Smalling is the heir apparent if either Vidic or Ferdinand get injured?

"it felt just like another game" - the confidence yet the calmness really showed through his performance, if he maintains his development he will be an excellent CB in the future.
