United - Neville`s Acceptance!

Yesterday we covered the sudden announcement that heralded the conclusion of the playing career of Gary Neville.

It came as a surprise with many of us expecting Gary to soldier on until the end of the season.

Today, the tabloid press is full of quotes attributed to Gary, quotes that show the old war-horse had accepted he`d finally reached the end of the road.

Quotes that read,

"I have been a Manchester United fan all my life and fulfilled every dream I`ve ever had."

"I am disappointed my playing days are at an end. But it comes to us all and it`s knowing when that time is. For me that time is now."

"I`ve played in the most incredible teams and played with and against some of the best players in the world. I have been lucky to have been part of the United team`s achievements and the club`s great success."

"There are so many people I want to thank and, of course, top of that list is Sir Alex."

"He has given me so many opportunities and unerring support over the last 20 years. He is truly one of the greatest managers and I have t thank him for that."

Can't be more happy than the fact that even in retirement he was doing a service to the club. He didn't want to see himself become a burden to the team and that's admirable. Always a Legend Nev!
