United - Lindegaard`s Debut!

United - Lindegaard`s Debut!

Watching Anders Lindegaard make his Manchester United debut, in the FA Cup tie against Southampton, I reckon the lad done alright.

Okay, he didn`t have that much to do, but he dealt with the high ball into the box comfortably and didn`t make any real rickets.

As for the goal, nobody would have stopped that shot; it was always destined to make the net bulge.

After the game, Anders spoke to the media and re-iterated at just how thrilled he was to be at United and on his debut, commenting,

"It was one of the most enjoyable days of my life. I have dreamed of representing a big club like this since I was four, and it felt as good as I had hoped."

"Now I have the taste for more. I am not here to sit and pick my nose - I want to play."

"But I want to be number one - my lucky number is 13 and I would like to wear it, but Ji-Sung Park has it at the moment, maybe next year."

With Edwin van der Sar having announced his impending retirement the opportunity does exist for Anders to become the first choice between the sticks and we reckon Ji-Sung, if asked nicely, wouldn`t put up too much of a fight for that number thirteen jersey!

Could you imagine Park in any other number than 13 though. There's a reason he has that number, it means the opposition has just ran into a patch of bad luck when he comes on the field.
