Sir Alex on His Striking Pair!

Sir Alex on His Striking Pair!

Following the narrow, but deserved, 2-1 victory away to Southampton, Sir Alex Ferguson praised two of his strikers in his post match interview.

With his usual front pairing of Wayne Rooney and Dimitar Berbatov on the bench, it was left to Michael Owen and Javier Hernandez to snatch the goals to guide us into the fifth round.

This is what he had to say about the pair,

"Owen was terrific, showed a lot of composure to score that goal from Gabriel Obertan`s cross. We needed to get something done at the time."

"With Hernandez it`s one chance, one goal. His work-rate is fantastic, he`s always on the move. Sometimes we don`t find enough space for him but he got his chance."

"He has cored in every competition, he has great feet, he can shoot, hopefully, he will continue to improve. I`m sure he will."

Once again the arguments will start about who should start, Javier or Wayne, especially when you look at their respective scoring records this season!

Its hard to believe that last season we were relying on Rooney to get the goals. Nani, Berby and Hernandez are all doing more than their share.
