Owen on United`s Perseverance!
The goal from Michael Owen yesterday had all the hallmarks of a goal scoring predator yet Owen started the game playing behind the front two.
After a poor first half, from the team, he was pushed up to a more familiar role and when interviewed by the media, after the game, had an explanation for that poor first forty-five minutes, commenting.
"Southampton played well, just as we expected."
"They are flying high and no matter what team we play they are always going to make it hard for the first forty-five minutes to an hour."
"Then they often tire and the better teams come through. We played in the Carling Cup earlier in this year and got a surprise. We didn`t want it to happen again."
We certainly didn`t!
