United Close in on Chamberlain!

Having witnessed first hand just how much potential the Southampton starlet, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has, it looks as if Manchester United are set to swoop for his signature.

Arsenal had been set to tie up a deal but the gossip columns now, delightfully, inform us that David Gill, our chief executive, held talks with the Southampton chairman, Nicola Cortese yesterday.

If United can wrap up a deal the same gossip column reminds its readers that it is a similar tactic United used when they secured the services of Chris Smalling, namely gazumping Arsenal at the last minute, providing a quote from a source that reads,

"It`s a classic United tactic. Wait and wait, then jump in."

That`s the best way no!
