United - That Penalty?
Here at Vital Manchester United, we try to take an honest approach to events.
Therefore, we feel that Ian Holloway has a justifiable gripe when he goes on to talk about the penalty that wasn`t given last night.
With Blackpool leading 2-0, there`s no doubt in my mind that Rafael did take out Varney and that Blackpool should have been given the opportunity to score fro the spot and make it 3-0.
On reflection it was a defining moment in a fixture that was as entertaining as any I`ve seen this season.
Could United have come back from 3-0 down? I guess we`ll never know.
But, after the match, the Blackpool boss, Ian Holloway, did have afew words to say about the incident, remarking,
"If that`s not a penalty then deary, deary me."
"Rafael makes no effort to play the ball at all, he wipes the player out and it`s a stone-waller."
You`ll not get any argument from me there, we just got lucky!
