United - Van der Sar`s Coaching Ambitions?

Claims that Edwin van der Sar will hang up his gloves and move into coaching at the conclusion of this season could well be only partially right.

Whilst rumours circulate that Edwin will call it a day at the end of this season, rumours he`s yet to deny, the Dutch keeper has put the record straight with regards to an immediate move into the coaching sector by remarking,

"I will hopefully not start coaching too quickly."

"I will try to have 18 months or two years for myself - and I`ve a family to do nice things with too."

"I think 80 per cent of players are saying that."

It`ll be interesting if United would let Edwin take a sabbatical. But the Dutchman does have one regret and that`s joining Fulham rather than United back in 2001, courtesy of the London club offering a more lucrative deal, commenting,

"One of the biggest regrets from both sides - United`s and mine - is that we didn`t come together earlier."

Better late than never we`d say!
