United - Stick With Smalling

Having missed the fixture against Birmingham City, this weekend, with a groin strain, questions are being asked as to whether Rio Ferdinand will be fit for the trip to Bloomfield Road.

Against Birmingham City, Chris Smalling proved to be more than a capable deputy an dour view is that with numerous fixtures coming our way this season, we should give Rio the chance to fully shake off this injury, give Chris another run-out on Tuesday, he`ll not let us down!

Its like for like with Smalling being so similar to Ferdinand and Evans being similar to Vidic. So Smalling should get the go ahead and gain some valuable first team experience perhaps with Rafael and/or Fabio.
