United - Rafael Charged!

Our fears were confirmed last night!

After expressing, yesterday, our concerns that the FA might well decide to punish Rafael for his tantrum after, unjustly, being shown a second yellow card meaning dismissal, the FA have come down hard.

Our young Brazilian defender has been charged by the FA with the body issuing a statement yesterday that read,

"Manchester United defender Rafael Da Silva has been charged with improper conduct."

"The charge relates to the player`s conduct towards match official Mike Dean following his dismissal in Manchester United`s fixture at Tottenham."

Rafael is no win a situation whereby he has to accept his fate or decide to appeal in person knowing that a failure to be successful at the appeal could result in his ban being extended!

What a draconian punishment for a crime he never committed!

It wouldn't bother me had Crouch got carded for a very similar challenge but from behind on Giggs. Dean appeared to feel he would flex his authority to try and prove he's not affected by this fable that refs are influenced by us. Well done Dean, you proved you're a pleb who gets absorbed by the presses fairy tales.
