'If It's Football, It's Vital'

United - That Red Card!

It`s unusual for Sir Alex Ferguson to be rendered speechless!

But that was the case when asked about the red card Rafael received yesterday at White Hart Lane.

Our Brazilian full back appeared to have been very harshly treated when Mike Dean branded a second yellow card after nothing more than an innocuous clash with Ekotto.

Speaking about the sending off Sir Alex had this to say,

"I don`t need to discuss the sending off. You can see that for yourself. I don`t have to discuss the referee. It`s out of my hands now, thank God"

And support for Rafael came from an unlikely source, Harry Redknapp, who was able to add,

"It was harsh on Rafael. He has not stuck his leg out."

"Rafael clipped Benoit`s heels. He was just trying to get out of the way. He hasn`t tripped him. What can you do about that?"

"Rafael has not broken his stride and stuck a leg out saying 'I`ll trip him`. His foot has caught the boy`s leg and that is it."

Perhaps Sir Alex was rendered speechless by the fact that it was the same referee, Mike Dean, who took charge of our ill-fated clash with Chelsea back in April!

Deserved sending off.
Bluedub
Ye thats right there Andy Gray, a deserved sending off, it doesn't matter that the majority of football pundits or the opposition manager disagree with you but sure aren't you a bloody well paid football analyst. Why don't you ***** off back to the prize fighter arena, sorry, city training ground.
kanchelskis
You big flirt!
Bluedub
After his earlier booking (which would have been red if he'd played for any other team but manure), his persistent fouling and his dissent, what did you expect to happen then Kanchelskis? Sorry, but how many red cards has this little turd picked up for youy now? Do you see some kind of pattern developing here?

gerard got sent off for a lesser challenge than the Rafeal tackle, which was HIGH, (unless he went for the guys leg and it was beach ball that was being played with) LATE AND CLUMSY..... what is there to suggest that it was unfair?and like it has already been said IF IT WAS ANY OTHER TEAM IT'S A STRAIGHT RED NOT A YELLOW, FOR THE TACKLE ALONE..... well done Mike Dean.....
