The quest to uncover the next United superstar is a never-ending one.
Being spoilt, in the past, with our youth system producing a whole raft of superstars, we need to respect the fact that those golden youngsters, many of whom were plucked from around the country by our scouting network, may probably never come through again in such quantities.
Therefore, any rumours that relate to our scouting system watching youngsters with fast growing reputations need to be heeded.
One such talent is the lad down at Southampton, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Still a teenager, it is implied that Chamberlain is a bigger emerging talent than Theo Walcott having scored 6 goals in 16 starts.
Last night he played a major role as Southampton thrashed Oldham 6-0 at Boundary Park and looked to be a different class to those around him, therefore impressing the watching Sir Alex Ferguson.
Could he be Old Trafford bound?
