United - Neville To Call It a Day?

After being little more than a bit-part player this season and having not enjoyed the best of performances in his last two appearances, sources close to Gary Neville insist that he`ll be retiring this summer.

Well that`s according to an article printed in the News of the World this morning, an article that insists that`s what Neville has told his friends.

It remains to be seen whether there is any truth in it, we`ll wait for official notification from within Old Trafford before we jump to our own conclusions!

have to say this would really please me. nothing against the man or player, but he has looked a shadow of the great player she once was and I would rather see him retire with dignity that tarnish his reputation as one of the best right backs in years.

Gary Neville, like oxfordspur said, is not the great player he once was. He's living to see himself become a hinderance to the side he loves. No offence Gary but you make a snail seem fast, any ordinary Winger causes him a right headache. By all means if he wants to lift the 19th league title, the sweetest of them all, then stay but dont play him until its secure because we may as well be playing 3 in defense.
