United - Second Keeper on the Way!

Having already secured the services of one goal keeper, in Anders Lindegaard, the tabloid press are in unison that Sir Alex Ferguson is hot on the heels of a second.

The keeper in question is the Bayer Leverkusen stopper, Rene Adler, with it being reported, by various sources, that the twenty-five year old is being lined up for a £15 million move to Old Trafford.

Leverkusen are, off course, keen to keep the keeper and are willing to negotiate an extension to his current contract that has only eighteen months to run. But Adler seems intent on loving on and has spoken to the media, remarking,

"I have told the Leverkusen board that I am not willing to discuss any new contract until April."

"I just want to achieve a Champions League spot with my team now."

"But everyone here knows that I have higher ambitions and everyone knows that Manchester United are my dream club."

Amazingly, Adler has a clause inserted in his contract that allows him to leave for United for the price already quoted, anyone else interested would have to activate a higher release clause, something Adler further commented on, explaining,

"The board of the club are aware of the special clause in my contract."

"As a kid my friends were only interested in cartoon, MTV and German TV programmes, but I was only interested in one person; Peter Schmeichel, who was in goal for Manchester United.

My whole bedroom was full of Schmeichel and United things."

Naturally, we`ll provide further coverage if, or when, a deal becomes official!
