United - Ferguson Has His Say!

The win over a gallant Stoke side saw United extend their lead at the top of the Premier League.

Already the talk is that the title is ours to throw away, but here at Vital Manchester United we`re exercising extreme caution, after all it has been that sort of campaign has it not!

But, in his post-match press conference, Sir Alex Ferguson had his own views on the situation commenting,

"It`s good to be top of the league in January. To be top now tells us that we`ll be in the shake up."

"Once you get to the New Year and you`re in there it gives a good guide to where you`re going to be at the end of the season."

"Our history tells us we play better in the second half of the season and we relish the big games."

"We`re pleased with where we are. We`re going to be in the shake-up."


Sir Alex also had some words of advice who continue to harangue us despite our lofty position and on the back of an unbeaten run with Sir Alex further adding,

"We`re always going to have to respond to that. You can look at as many stats as you like.

"But look at our home record for a start. Some of our performances have been fantastic."

"We`re an easy target for that kind of thing. We just have to dismiss it and concentrate on our ambitions - and that`s to win the league."


To win the league for a record number of times and shut up those who wear red on Merseyside, what a treat awaits us in May!
