United Chasing Madrid Ace!

The opening of the transfer window is but a few days away!

Already though the name of Manchester United is featuring with a degree of regularity with the tabloid press keen to press home claims that the target they have nominated is a sure-fire cert.

One tabloid, this morning, is pretty insistent that Sir Alex Ferguson is looking to bolster his midfield by signing the out of favour Real Madrid midfielder, Lassana Diarra.

A fee of £12 million is being quoted for a player that cost Real Madrid £20 million when they signed him from Portsmouth.

Justification is given for the move with the insistence that Sir Alex has recognised that the United career of Owen Hargreaves is effectively over whilst also acknowledging that the ageing Paul Scholes cannot go on for ever.

We believe that a feasibility rating for this transfer to be somewhere in the region of 6 out of 10.

A very good player but as I stated before his sickle cell anemia is still a stumbling block.

bart615 I will concede that on paper Madrid are better than us but truthfully Madrid aren't quite the team we are. Despite having a starstudded squad they seriously underachieve their expectations season after season. People really need to get out of this frame of mind where Madrid is where you want to be, the Galacticos era ended a very long time ago. Players recently thrive pre-Madrid and post-Madrid but not whilst at Madrid (Robben, Sneijder and Van Der Vaart being my prime examples.)
