'If It's Football, It's Vital'

United - Sir Alex - A Few Thoughts!

Having passed the Sir Matt Busby milestone and set a new longevity record, it`s not surprising that several prominent figures, in the world of football, have stepped forward to offer a few comments on the remarkable Sir Alex Ferguson.

First up, Fabio Capello, who had this to say to the media,

"In the history of football, the best manager is Sir Alex."

"For such a long time he managed the team and he has changed a lot of things. He changed the team, he changed the players."

"He has been really good for the club."

"I have a Christmas wish for Sir Alex - another 20 years of management at the highest level."

Whereas one of his loyal servants, Ryan Giggs reminded the media of a moment his legendry man-management skills were put to use, remarking,

"The gaffer`s half-time speech in Barcelona stands out for me. The thought of walking past the European Cup, not touching it, inspired us."

Another to comment on one of his leading attributes was a United legend who had the temerity to score the goal that relegated us, Dennis Law, who commented,

"His motivation skills are outstanding and he`s a good judge of character. Everyone knows he`s the reason for the success United have enjoyed."

But we`ll leave the last word to the Queens Park Rangers manager, Colin, who purred,

"He knows every player`s strengths. I even asked him about Dunfermline`s groundsman and, by God, he knew his name and where he came from."

Sir Alex Ferguson - a truly great man!
