United - Anderson - New Contract!

There were whispers that after that car-crash incident in the summer, a certain midfield talent going by the name of Anderson could well be ushered out of Old Trafford.

Thankfully, for Manchester United, that didn`t happen and Anderson has displayed the kind of form that justified Sir Alex Ferguson`s decision to lure him to Old Trafford.

That form has resulted in the Brazilian being rewarded with a new four and a half year contract with Sir Alex giving him a glowing reference when announcing the news to the media,

"We are delighted he has signed a new contract."

"Anderson has developed tremendously since joining us and he has fantastic potential at only 22 - he is going to be a really top player."

"He`s been absolutely brilliant, tremendous."

"He offers something different from other midfield players we`ve got. He`s got tremendous pace and can beat a man. He`s always decisive in his passing and in terms of penetration."

"So he`s different from other midfield players, like Darren Fletcher, Michael Carrick and Paul Scholes, who lies a bit deeper at his age."

Whereas the man himself had this to say about his new deal,

"This is the best club to be at and I`d like to thank everyone for the great support I`ve received."

"I am looking forward to winning many more trophies with United and I am so pleased to have signed a new contract."

Hopefully this new deal will see Anderson further his career big time, at Old Trafford and maybe we just might see that awful goals per game ratio improve, two goals I ask you?

Great to hear! I think he has more potential than Nani though I began to doubt this last season.
