United - Full Back Hunt?

The various news outlets we have access to seem infatuated with our apparent desire to sign a full back, or two!

Much of the speculation is focussed on the fact that there seems to be some sort of doubt about the future of Patrice Evra.

Off course, previously Evra has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, although nothing concrete has ever been confirmed by either party.

So who has been linked as a possible replacement?

According to one source United are poised to make a significant offer for the Barcelona full-back Dani Alves whilst another source has us linked with two players currently in the Premier League - Leighton Baines and Gareth Bale.

Now I could pontificate all night long about the merits of each but instead I`ll just simply say that I`d consider both Alves and Bale to be out of our price range, so perhaps, using that thesis, Baines could be our option.

Any views anyone?

Will the papers learn WE DONT NEED FULL BACKS!!! Evra is committed to the club and I doubt Fergie would allow him to leave otherwise whilst at RB we've got the up-and-coming best RB in the world who is more than capable of handling Ribery's, Bale's, Ronaldinho's and Arshavin's already.

Why would we sign anyone to replace Evra??? Fabio da Silva is his replacement!!! No doubt about it!!!

Completely agree with java about Fabio. An excellent talent though many dismiss him due to his lack of game time which is solely down to injury more than anything else.
TheFamousNo7
True, true... Fabio was unlucky to have Evra as his main contender for the spot. Not an easy task, is it? Having seen him though playing, he is a talanted player, a bit "smarter" on skills and passing, than Rafael who has the extra strength and speed.
