United - Smalling Ready!

United - Smalling Ready!

With Rio Ferdinand`s participation in the Arsenal fixture still in doubt, due to the tight hamstring that caused him to leave the field of play against Valencia, in midweek, our summer recruit from Fulham could be about to fill the void.

Chris Smalling, who actually signed for United back in the January transfer window last year but was loaned back to Fulham, has already got a couple of game sunder his belt whilst also being called up into the England squad., had this to say to the media about his situation,

"Rio and Nemanja are the first choice central defenders. But I have to be ready if called upon."

"I have been watching them from the sidelines and learning from both of them in training."

There could hardly be a bigger test than Arsenal though could there!

I'm sure he will be more than capable as long as he has that authoritive figure next to him (Vidic and Evra).
