'If It's Football, It's Vital'

United - Sir Alex Seems Happy Enough!

It was a bit disappointing to spoil our goals against record by conceding against Valencia last night but, on the whole, the performance was a good one.

In fact if the Valencia goalkeeper hadn`t of had such a great game we could, this morning, be discussing a comfortable win.

After the fixture, and talking to the assembled media, Sir Alex Ferguson seemed happy enough with life and seemed to be looking forward to making further progress in a competition he`d love to win when he remarked,

"We can make progress, that`s the most important thing. Now we will just have to take whoever we get."

"We made a lot of chances here and played a lot of good football."

"But then we settled on what we`d got, tried to see out the game and that can be dangerous."

"Their goalkeeper had a golden day. He was marvelous. We made a lot of chances and should have scored a few more goals"

The first of the knockout rounds should be interesting but this competition is only really going to hot up when the draw for the last eight is made!
