United - Rio Injury Concerns!

With top spot guaranteed the only negative to come out of the 1-1 draw with Valencia was the loss of Rio Ferdinand.

Our cultured defender limped out of the action with a tight hamstring and is now in a race against time to get fit for the crucial clash against Arsenal, on Monday night.

Speaking to the media, after the match, Sir Alex Ferguson spoke about Rio`s plight, remarking,

"Rio has got a tight hamstring and we couldn`t take any chances with the game coming against Arsenal next Monday night."

"It`s a tight hamstring, not a pull. He felt it at half-time and wanted to see how it went. But it should be okay because he`s now got six days to recover."

For once, playing on a Monday night might just prove to be a blessing in disguise!

it's unfortunate for rio

Hopefully he's there for Arsenal, though i'm sure one of Evans or Smalling could fit in competently enough.
