'If It's Football, It's Vital'

United - Guardiola Next In Line?

Just recently, in the tabloid press, there have been muttering that our troubled rivals, Chelsea, could well be looking towards securing the services of a certain Pep Guardiola.

Rumour has it that Carlo Ancelotti isn`t too long for the job at Stamford Bridge and that the West London hierarchy could well be looking to change their manager for the umpteenth time in the last few years.

Up at Old Trafford we merrily go about our business with the same manager, at the helm that has been there for what seems like a lifetime, however, we`re not foolish enough to believe Sir Alex will be around for ever and we`ve often pondered over who`ll step into his shoes once he does decide that enough is enough.

Well today, the media have provided us with a name that might make the aforementioned West London wince with a source close to Pep Guardiola declaring that the current Spanish boss has told friends that he`d love to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford,

There`s even a few comments floating around to back up the claim, comments that state,

"Pep would be keen on working with Sir Alex, if that was possible. It would allow him to come to terms with England under the guidance of the best."

Could the solution to any perceived problems relating to the heir to Sir Alex be currently residing at the Nou Camp?

Sticking to my guns that Mourinho will be Fergie successor, Pep seems far too cosy at Barca to give it all up.
