FC United in Draw for FA Cup Round 3!

FC United in Draw for FA Cup Round 3!

Our congratulations go to FC United of Manchester.

Playing away in the FA Cup 2nd round, the minnows almost pulled off a great cup shock down at the Withdean Stadium.

Taking on the League One side, Brighton and Hove Albion, FC United took the lead courtesy of a goal from Platt and despite being reduced to ten men when McManus was sent off managed to hang on until almost the end.

Unfortunately, Taricco equalised for Brighton but the tie had one last moment of cup magic left when Brighton were awarded a penalty six minutes into stoppage time, Aston produced a save and FC United go into the draw for round three and have a money-spinning replay against Brighton to look forward to.

It can`t happen can it?

History lesson: The club was formed in 2005 by Manchester United supporters following Malcolm Glazer's controversial takeover which led to hundreds of supporters defecting from the club. <- Straight from wikipedia. Happy Bluedub?
