United - Berbatov Sale to Fund Duo In!

There seems to be a common thread doing the internet rounds.

It boasts that Dimitar Berbatov isn`t long for Old Trafford and carries the inference that Sir Alex Ferguson has decided to cash in on the Bulgarian striker, despite Berbatov looking the business in the early stages of the season.

Now whether there`s any substance to this rumour or not remains to be seen but one source takes it a little further than merely suggesting that Berbatov is moving on, this source goes on to boldly proclaim that he`s being sold to fund the arrivals of the Athletic Bilbao duo, Fernando Llorente and Javi Martinez.

Llorente is a forward and Martinez a midfielder, both with growing reputations in La Liga, but, like I suggested earlier, you have to question whether there`s any substance to the rumour!

I guess only time will tell!

Berbatov for sale huh? I'll give you half a bitter shandy and a packet of pork scratchings for him - keep the change.

If Berb is worth that much i wonder how much Adebayor, Santa Cruz, Lescott and Jo are all worth fcb?

So fifth, you have one victory against pathetic Fulham, and all of a sudden you come out of your little hole.. Shouldnt you be focusing on trying to pay enough to hold on to your mercenaries, your club is pathetic, you have won nothing, and none of your so called players give a *****e about your club.. Crawl back into your hole.

So how much do you think you'll get for a player that hasn't scored in what, 7 games, and who didn't evne make your squad for the Wigan game? This is one of Fergies all-time great mistakes, £30m for a 1 goal in 3 games striker. Maybe you should have hung onto Tevez a bit longerr eh? And Nordkrap - it's not just one little victory that has me optimistic, it's the manner in which my team are beginning to gel and play the way Mancini expects them to that has me excited. We're weeding out the dead wood brought in by the hapless ex-rag Hughes, perhaps you should worry on how utterly diabolically your own team have been playing this season. Don't let the fact you are unbeaten fool you into thinking that all is well with the (once) mighty rags, as it's clearly not. TTFN

P.S. Nordkrap - I live in quite a pleasant semi in OLD TRAFFORD, Greater Manchester - somewhere I'm sure you'd love to visit one day if it wasn't ever such a long way from home...

If Fergie wanted to csh in on Berbatov, now would be the time, the guy isn't getting any younger, and oce past that "magic milestone" of 30yrs old, player's values plummet. I think Berbatov is a the age where you either keep him for the rest of his career (ala Giggs and Scholes), or cash in and re-invest, there'd be plenty of takers for Berbatov still, although at what price I have no idea!

fcb your comment about Hughes is laughable. So quick to forget his contribution and brand him as 'hapless', Tevez and Toure arguably your best player and your best player in his position are 2 of your best signing you've ever made. Not mentioning the man who dragged you to fifth kicking and screaming last season - Bellamy. Yes he made poor transfers but its pretty hard to attract the likes of Yaya Toure and David Silva when your reputation doesn't pass beyond the UK. However, I do love the fact that you say we've played diabolic (which we have admittedly) yet we are joint 1st, really puts things into context.

Berby wont leave Fergie is in awe of him and fails to blame Berby for his original lacklustre displays and would rather blame himself. As for the 3 games a goal when Berby joined us it wasn't for the goals, though he doesn't score many goals he adds alot to the team (assuming he's playing well).
TheFamousNo7
which he's not. P.S. Hughes was not a bad manager, but never seemed to have a plan B when things were not going well, as evinced by his total failure to respond to the whipping Mancini gave him. Roque Santa Cruz, Adebayor, Bridge, Lescott, even SWP past his best - these were Hughes singings and these are patently not good enough for whatever reason. Hughes made a lot of enemies for City in his relentless pursuit of players, and I for one am glad he's gone.

Filth I am happy for your great living accomodations, I dont see what that has go to do with anything, less being a fan.. As for weeding out the deadwood, does that include Bellamy and Stephen Ireland, and replacing them with Milner, Viera and overpaid Toure. Are you blind, or is to many beers at the local pub, or just pure ignorance. United is undefeated despite not getting into gear, dont let that fool, instead take a long hard look at your trophy cabinet and suck it up filthcolumn.
