United - Portuguese Scouts Keeping Busy?

United - Portuguese Scouts Keeping Busy?

Our Portuguese contingent could well be boosted once the transfer window opens.

The red-top press carries an interesting piece of gossip that starts off by mentioning that United were considering lining up the Portuguese left back, Fabio Coentrao, in case Patrice Evra does decide to leave Old Trafford.

Unfortunately, that interest looks to have been only fleeting with Benfica having told United there is a £26 million buy-out clause in his contract and that Real Madrid have already started talks.

It then goes on to mention another possible Portuguese target in the Porto winger, Silvestre Varela, who, at 25 is earning rave reviews after coming back from a broken leg.

What is it with us and Portuguese wingers?

But we`ll endeavour to keep you posted if anything develops out of either rumour!

I have no concerns over Evra and believe he will stay at United until Fergie decides he's no longer needed.
