United - What Reception Did Rooney Get?

It`s been a weird few weeks for Wayne Rooney!

Having upset the brotherhood with the manner in which he instigated a new contract; Wayne has been conspicuous by his absence in recent weeks.

A mid-season jaunt to Dubai was followed by a week long rehabilitation spell in the USA at the Nike HQ.

Now whether the stormy manner in which he upset the apple-cart was the reason behind both trips, or whether it really was the best thing to do for the troubled striker remains debatable.

But Rooney is now back in the swing of things, at Carrington, in readiness for the forthcoming fixture, this weekend, against Wigan.

Would it be churlish to ponder over what kind of reception he got when he pulled into the facility?

Was he warmly received by all or was there the odd glare from those who might very well have thought they were the ones in the firing line when Rooney fired off his barbed comments when it looked like he was on the verge of departing Old Trafford?

footballs a fickle old game, you'll forget all about the contract thing if he starts baggin up a goal or two every game. i expect he'll get a frosty reception from some of the fans but i bet the opposing fans will have a field day with him. be interesting to see how he handles that!
